Troubleshooting

The game will not start

If Mr Stump's Dentures will not launch, work through these checks in order; most start-up problems are quick fixes.

Checklist

  • SmartScreen / antivirus. Windows may block an unrecognized small executable. If a SmartScreen prompt appears, choose to run it anyway (when you trust the source), and confirm your antivirus has not quarantined mrstumps.exe.
  • Re-download a clean copy. A partial or corrupted download will fail to launch. Get a fresh build from the GitHub releases.
  • Run from a normal folder. Launching directly from inside a zip, or from a restricted system folder, can fail. Extract the file to a regular folder first.
  • Compatibility mode. As an older Windows game, it may need running in compatibility mode for an earlier Windows version (right-click the exe, Properties, Compatibility).
